Apple MacBook Pro (with Penryn)

Apple MacBook Pro
-March 28, 2008-
Apple MacBook Pro 15" is the most popular laptop during late 2007 until early 2008. It’s not surprising because Apple MacBook Pro 15" is strong, powerful, and cheap. Just a few days ago Apple released a new product to continue their domination: Apple MacBook Pro 15” with Penryn technology. MacBook Pro with Penryn is not the first laptop which uses Penryn but it's still one of the best in this business.

Thanks to the Penryn processor, Apple decided to change its CPU process (65-nm to 45-nm). Don’t forget that the “form” of the processor is completely different from the previous MacBook Pro. This laptop’s speed obviously is much faster and so is the graphics quality. Both MacBook Pro 15” (with Penryn) and its earlier edition (without Penryn) use nVidia GeForce 8600M GT as their graphics card. However, the newer one has upgraded its video memory (to 512 MB).

Of course this laptop allows you to play heavy games to their maximum performance. CoD4, Crysis, or other stunning games look pretty awesome and better on MacBook Pro 15” with Penryn. About features, this laptop has two USB ports, one slot for DVD burner, and one front row remote. Apple also offers two options of hard disk capacity. The first one is 250 Gigabytes (5,400-rpm drive) and the second one is 200 Gigabytes (7,200-rpm drive).

Too bad this laptop is still very expensive. I don’t know if you are ready to waste spend more than $2,800 only because you want better performance from your laptop but I know most people prefer cheaper laptops. Another negative issue about MacBook Pro 15” (with Penryn) is its size and weight. After the success story of MacBook Air, it’s a bit disappointing that Apple didn’t change MacBook Pro’s size and weight. But I still think this laptop deserves more attention from mobile computer lovers.
