Gateway P-7811FX

-August 25, 2008-
Gateway P-7811FX looks colorful. The first time Gateway announced the release of its P-7811FX, it was only available at Best Buy. It looks exclusive so I want to check it out. One of this website's visitors even has asked me where to find a review about this P-7811FX. So here it is.
The screen size, which is 17", is impressive. It offers a 1,920x1,200 resolution. I think if you are looking for a media laptop with competitive price, Gateway P-7811FX could be the solution for you. The orange line on the keyboard also looks good and innovative. I rarely see this kind of things in recent laptops.
Actually P-7811FX is identical to P-171FX. Both have the same looking design but P-7811FX apparently is the better one. Well, anyway, P-7811FX is heavy. With 8.8 lbs, I don't think travelers should buy this laptop. Nowadays most laptops with 17" screen size weigh less than 7.9 pounds but Gateway P-7811FX fails to catch up with the latest trend.
Despite all of this, Gateway P-7811FX is still a good laptop. With latest Intel Centrino 2 platform and powerful Core 2 Duo P8400 as its processor, P-7811FX is able to run most heavy softwares perfectly. The huge 4 Gigabytes RAM memory also helps us in running all Adobe latest softwares. About ports, Gateway P-7811FX has 3 USB ports and HDMI port. Just like any other laptops, webcam and fingerprint reader are already included inside it.
