HP 2133 Mini-Note PC

-April 8, 2008-
In order to compete with Asus Eee PC 4G, HP launched a new and extremely cheap laptop. It is called HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. This laptop is still more expensive than Eee PC 4G but at least it's still cheaper than most laptops. The interesting parts from this laptop are its processor and graphics card. HP uses VIA CJ7-M (1.6 GHz) and VIA SG3 Unichrome Pro. This is a smart move to cut the price of each 2133 Mini-Note PC.
However, VIA processors usually are not as effective as Intels. VIA CJ7-M is still promising if you use your laptop only for general stuffs but compared to Intel Core 2 Duo, this processor have too many weaknesses. In critical moments (such as if you run many programs all at once), VIA CJ7-M is slower than Intel Core 2 Duo with the same speed (1.6 GHz). I almost forget to mention the heat issue.
Of course the features are very limited because this laptop is created for students. But still, HP 2133 Mini-Note PC has better memory and storage capacity than Eee PC 4G. 120GB hard disk capacity is more than enough if you do not want to use this laptop to play games. 2 GB RAM memory also is another positive thing. Just remember: HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is a very cheap laptop and according to its price, this laptop performance and features are superb. Even you can upgrade its specification if you want, different with the "static" Eee PC 4G. HP offers many options but of course you'll need to pay more.
