Lenovo ThinkPad T61

-January 25, 2008-
Eight months ago, Lenovo introduced its Thinkpad T61. T series are the most popular Lenovo laptops and undoubtedly T61 is still the best between all T series. Like other T series, Lenovo Thinkpad T61 is black, not so beautiful (but not ugly as well), and has a 14.1" widescreen monitor. Even though Thinkpad T61 uses a 14.1" monitor, but its weight is only 5.4 lbs. Most laptops with 14" monitor are heavy but ThinkPad T61 wants us to think the otherwise.
As always, the most important thing from a ThinkPad is the comfortability of the keyboard. ThinkPad T61 maybe is not as better as Dell Inspiron or Gateway notebooks but you shouldn't ask how good the keyboard is. The keyboard, touch pad screen, and TrackPoint device are the keys why this laptop is popular.
Different with its precedessor, T60, ThinkPad T61 has better feature set. With three USB ports, a FireWire port, and importantly the ThinkVantage, I think it's quite reasonable why ThinkPad T61 had an expensive price tag (it was around $2,000 when Lenovo launched it for the first time). The ThinkVantage feature will cut the performance of your operation system (Vista and XP) to help your battery life. Of course you can turn off this feature anytime you want. The worst thing about T61 is the storage capacity. With only 100 Gigabytes, you can't put all the softwares and games inside it.
