Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet PC

Lenovo Thinkpad X61 Tablet
-January 25, 2008-
Lenovo ThinkPad X61 is the latest Tablet PC from Lenovo. It was launched in middle 2007. Lenovo knows how to gain benefits from a growing trend. Tablet PC trend has been growing in the recent months, so I think Lenovo's policy to launch Thinkpad X61 was a brilliant movement.

Despite Tablet PCs are more popular lately, but people are still doubting the effectiveness of this kind of product. They think the price and the performance from all Tablet PCs are not balanced enough. One more reason, Apple and Dell (two big laptop manufacturers) are not focusing their attention on tablet PCs so it's understandable why people do not want to open their eyes to see how good Tablet PC really is.

About this laptop itself, Thinkpad X61's appearance is not different with other Lenovo tablet PCs. Thinkpad X61 uses magnesium alloy–backed frame and black colour, very similar with earlier Lenovo laptops. Black colour usually means business so Lenovo puts the black colour to remind everyone that Thinkpad X61 is created for business. The bad thing about X61 is the screen size. With only 12" screen monitor, the fonts are smaller and it's a bit harder to read them.

Other negative issue comes from the technical support. Some consumers said Lenovo X61's technical support are not professional at all. I don't know if you ever experienced the same thing but I think now Lenovo people are better. About the positive parts, of course the answers are the keyboard and the battery life. Like other Lenovo popular products, X61 is the best tablet PC if we talk about its keyboard usability. ThinkPad X61 also uses a low-voltage processor which mean your battery power won't be consumed too much. Nevertheless, low-voltage processor also means your operation system will be slower when you run it
